Brooklyn South is a small and cozy deli and sandwich shop located just east of the burgeoning Edge District in downtown St. Petersburg. They offer delectable prepared sandwiches that are the best of their style in all of Pinellas County, if not farther. They also employ a cheesemonger and other experts to explain their meats, cheeses, and crackers that are available for sale. Their hours are limited compared to other restaurants and grocery stores, but their offerings are unequaled.
Downtown St. Petersburg on Central Ave has a new American restaurant this year. It replaces an Italian restaurant previously found at the same location at 200 Central Ave, JoJo’s in Citta. It is a pretty amazing replacement to say the least. JoJo’s was decent and marginally good food, but certainly nothing special. The Mill Restaurant is new, refreshing, and draws you in from half a city block away with its welcoming and delicious aroma.
Dööners is a new European lunch spot in downtown Saint Petersburg. They offer a unique style of sandwich and salad I’ve never seen before. The service is still evolving and it can be a little slow and disorganized, but the food is definitely tasty and an interesting experience.
Thai Orchid Restaurant is an excellent dine-in or delivery Thai restaurant in northwestern Saint Petersburg, officially classified part of Kenneth City. Their food appears cleaner and tastes healthier, in a good way, than most Thai restaurants in the area. Orchid’s order takers and delivery personnel are also very nice and helpful.
Bella Brava is an Italian restaurant in downtown Saint Petersburg near the water. They are a “new world trattoria,” offering a casual and lively atmosphere. You have the option of eating inside or outside, and both options offer a unique dining experience.
Hiro’s Tokyo is a teppanyaki-style steakhouse in Saint Petersburg. Their cleanliness, food quality, and loyalty program all put them ahead of competing local Japense steakhouses.
