The Hangar Restaurant

July 16, 2011 admin

The Hangar is a smaller restaurant located upstairs at the Albert Whitted Airport near downtown Saint Petersburg. They offer a fairly priced and very clean dining experience daily from 8 AM until 10 PM. My visit this Friday night included live music. However, the service was just above unacceptably slow and the food is nowhere near as tasty as you would expect from initial impressions.

The restaurant does offer an excellent view of some small airplanes and the runway. Also, they offer a special that includes a two person helicopter ride for $99. Overall, it might be worth checking out once for dinner or a drink at the bar, but it’s unlikely this will be anyone’s regular stop for a quality dinner out as it stands now. The owners operate two excellent restaurants, Parkshore Grill and 400 Beach. Hopefully they upgrade this restaurant in terms of service and food quality to match their two more established restaurants.
